移民部长Senator Chris Evans 在其官方网站公布了2010-2011移民项目年联邦预算关于移民的要点。

政府将加强技术移民项目对技术短缺的针对性，但将维持现在的移民项目的总体名额。技术移民项目总体名额将维持在168，700名不变，包括技术类113，850名，家庭类54，550名，和特殊资格类(Special Eligibility)300名。

技术移民总名额增加了5750个，其中雇主担保类(employer-sponsored)增加了9150个，普通技术移民类减少了3600个，商务移民类增加了200个。家庭类移民减少了5750个名额。

其中移民部长提到：“The composition of the migration program will assist in delivering the Government's reforms designed to address shortages of highly skilled workers, such as healthcare, engineering and mining professionals who have an employer willing to sponsor them.”

虽然新的SOL尚未公布，但根据移民部长的讲话，我们可以看出，healthcare, engingeering, 以及 mining professional 很有可能在新的SOL中。
